to Give We can listen to our hearts and respond to the need for organ and tissue donation by taking the following steps: Make the decision whether or not to be an organ and tissue donor. Share your decision by discussing it with your family members. Complete, sign, and carry a donor card or sign the back of your driver's license. In making the decision to help others, it is important to know that: All major religions support and encourage organ and tissue donation as an act of neighborly love and charity. There is not cost to your family as a result of donation. Donation does not interfere with wake or funeral arrangements. An open casket funeral can still take place. Finally, it is important to know that by being organ and tissue donors, we leave behind the greatest gift of all...The gift of life. |
